Interesting article - thank you for collating these platforms. Investors often talk about 'picks and shovels' of emerging industries, in the sense of investing in the infrastructure / tooling layer of emergent, high-risk industries. Not seeking investment advice, but curious what sub-sectors you might consider to be the picks and shovels of the "space economy".

Thanks for reading, that's a great question! In my opinion, the companies that best fit that description are those enabling the infrastructure that will ensure a healthy space ecosystem. The number of satellites in space is undergoing hockey-stick growth and our existing infrastructure is not built for what that growth. I wrote another blog post about these challenges which I will include at the end of this comment, but a company that comes to mind is one called LeoLabs that is building radar systems on Earth that point towards space and catalogues the positioning of all objects in orbit. They then sell this data as a service to the companies operating those satellites to make sure those companies know where their satellites are (in order to communicate with them) and can avoid collisions with other satellites, which is a rapidly increasing challenge. https://spacedotbiz.substack.com/p/the-rise-of-the-satellite-mega-constellation
